Bruce McLaren was one of the icons of motor racing in the sport's 60s ‘golden age’ – he won four Grand Prix, and teamed up with fellow Kiwi Chris Amon to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The McLaren team he founded became one of the most successful in Formula One. In this documentary, director Roger Donaldson returns to the tarmac where he has made a mark on previous projects — Smash Palace, his fictional story of a race car driver, and two films inspired by Invercargill's DIY racing legend Burt Munro, "The Worlds Fastest Indian" . McLaren arrives in New Zealand cinemas in June 2017.

Schlingel - International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience 2012

A low budget , down to earth good rollicking fun kids movie for all to enjoy. We certainly did making it. No whizz bang effects, just a small town NZ story based on child hood memories of many NZ'ers. Kids loved the film and so much so , it took out the Audience Choice Award at Schingel. No mean feat to achieve that up against films from all around the world.

This intriguing 13 part series adapted from a Magaret Mahy book won the hearts of many children . Made for Maori Television it embraced the super natural world of Maori mythology. Set and shot in the haunting environs of Governors Bay , Banks Peninsula.

This beautifully shot film by Alun Bollinger is about the memoirs of Gaylene Prestons father , Ed Preston ,  that he shared with her during several private interviews Gaylene did with him. Its sad, heart warming and home grown.A very Real look at war for many New Zealanders both left at home and away at war.

I had the privilege of operating 2nd camera for Albol plus 2nd unit dop duties. Cameras used -  Thomson Viper's and s16mm.

We shot this brilliant new and unique interactive Web drama over 2 days per week. The online audience were able to influence the story by sending texts to the lead character. On a budget I went back to the Sony EX1 and Ex3 with nano HD recorders which I'd had success with in the past on low budget drama..a couple of lens adaptors and nikkor primes also helped out.

Reservoir Hill received two Emmy nominations.The first season won the coveted award in 2010 making KHF Media the first New Zealand company to win an International Emmy award.

Reservoir Hill 1 and 2 was an original web-drama mystery series that garnered a large following from which the Tv Feature came. Strange things happen in the suburb of Reservoir Hill where Beth has just arrived. She has to get to the bottom of it with a surprising twist and result.

Being a very small budget I shot this on a Sony EX3 with lens adaptor and Nikon stills lenses.

We shot this doco over several years as funds became available, on different cameras and shooting when and where we could on the smell of an oily rag. This is a critical story to be told for Aotearoa and Tahiti.

This film presents Captain Cook’s first Pacific voyage, this time, through the eyes of the people of the Pacific.

A gorgeous wee fun film for children and adults and one of my favourite shorts I've shot. Was very low budget 2 day shoot.

Excerpts from a short film I shot for Rachel Douglas ( Director/Writer). It is based on early pioneer women and the struggles they had living remotely in early european New Zealand. The intended look was experimental.....we shot it on 35mm kodak stock with heavy netting and under exposed + pushed process.
